May 2012

We started off May with our 8 year wedding anniversary on the 1st. Unfortunately, Jason was in Reno for work, but I did get these gorgeous roses.

Here are some photos from the rest of the month.

My mom got Taygen this adorable little outfit before she was born. Ridiculously cute.

 Allary climbing the Jungle Gym.

She was so teeny! Look at those teeny little frog legs. :)

6 weeks old.

My mom and dad came to visit the weekend of the 11th.

Cousin Jenna.

Mother's Day. Me and my sweet girls. So happy!

Big and fun milestone on May 14th...Taygen's first smile!!!
I was trying to get her attention to take her 7 week old pictures, and was thrilled to have
camera in hand to catch the first little baby grin.

7 weeks old.

8 weeks old.

I took Taygen to the Dr. for her 8 weeks check-up on the 22nd.
She was 8 lbs. 5 oz. (5th percentile)
21.5 inches long (25th percentile)

She was not so happy about the shots. Poor baby...

Yes, I love to dress them in matching outfits.

We took Allary to the swimming pool for something fun for just her.

9 weeks old.

A few more from April

Also in April, we went to the "Baby Animal Birthday Party" at Farm Country. This is something they do every spring when all their little baby animals are born. It's really fun and the animals are really cute. Allary loves it.

This was Taygen's first day at church. She was less than thrilled to have to get all dolled up.

5 weeks old.

Soccer - Spring 2012

During the very first game of the season, Allary's face collided with the head of a teammate. We could tell right away it was going to be a black eye. We asked if she wanted to leave, and she said that she wanted to stay. She sat on the sidelines most of the game, but then she jumped back in for the last part of the game. She is one tough little girl.

I apparently didn't take many pictures. I think we did take lots of video, though.

April 2012

Here's a quick rundown of April...
- I held and enjoyed my sweet newborn, a lot.
- My mom was here until the 10th.
- We celebrated Easter.
- The 9-13 was Spring Break. Spring Break was a little hard because my mom left and Jason went back to work, so I was on my own for the 1st time with 2 kiddos.
- I took Taygen to the Dr. for her 2 week checkup. She was 5 lbs. 13 oz. I took her in again on the 13th and she was exactly 6 lbs. The Dr. was a bit concerned about her weight. Sometime around 2 weeks old, I decided to start bottle-feeding Taygen. I could go into great detail about the emotional stress and guilt and frustration, but I won't. For some reason, I can't breastfeed. I've tried both times and just can't make it work, despite my best efforts. I was determined this time around to not let it stress me out. So, when I realized she wasn't getting enough to eat, that was it. We went straight to the bottle and she started eating like a champ and putting on weight. Whew, and that was that. It may be that 10-20 years down the road, she'll have some crazy problem, health or otherwise, and I will look back and blame the decision to bottle-feed. Oh well, I'll deal with it then. :)
- Allary started soccer, which I will give it's own post, later.
- Jason was in Anaheim for work the 22-28. He was supposed to come home in-between trips, but ended up flying from there straight to the next show in Reno until May 6th. This was an extremely challenging and exhausting time for me. We survived. We survived mostly because it was about this time that Taygen started sleeping 6-7 hours at night. Yay!
- I had an EKG on the 23rd, which gave us nothing but great news. My heart was completely healthy! Awesome.

She had (and still has) the hugest eyes. I may have to dedicate an entire post just to those eyes.

3 weeks old.

I really wanted to make these cute little matching "Big Sister" and "Little Sister" T-shirts with their handprints on them. It was a cute idea, but a little hard to actually make happen. Have you ever tried to unclench a teeny tiny little newborn fist, put paint on it, and then spread the hand out on a surface? Oh man.

4 weeks old.

Seriously, those eyes!
