Gingerbread House

Oh my goodness, I thought I was done with posting about Christmas, but then I found these photos. And, since I am trying to make the gingerbread house a family tradition carried on from my childhood, I can't just skip over these photos of our 2011 gingerbread house creation.

And, this last photo is just cute. This was in the car on our way over to Kevin and Leslee's house for Christmas dinner. She was so exhausted from a Christmas Eve full of anticipation and a Christmas day full of fun and excitement. I thought she was so cute all tuckered out and holding two of her favorite Christmas toys. I love it.

More Christmas Festivities

Jason had more time off around the holidays than I think he's ever had since we've been married. It was fantastic to have that much time to just be together as a family. We used the week after Christmas to go out and hit all the things on my Christmas To-Do List.
We went and saw an animated drive-thru light display, we went to a fun little shopping village to see the elf displays and do an elf scavenger hunt, and we went to the temple to see the beautiful lights there. We also just relaxed and played games, watched movies, drank lots of hot chocolate, enjoyed our new things and mostly, enjoyed the time together.

CHRISTMAS!

Yes, it's February and I am still posting about Christmas. Oy.

My parents came up this way to spend the holiday here with those of us that live here. We had a nice Christmas Eve get-together at their new house (to which they will be retiring in the near future).

 Megan, Allary, and Cody.

The grandkids helping my mom with a flannel board nativity.

And finally.... Christmas morning!!! This is what Santa left for Allary.

With Christmas falling on Sunday, we spent some time opening and playing with what Santa brought, then got dressed and headed to church.

After we got home, I made Jason and Allary get their jammies back on. A little elf left these on our doorstep on Christmas Eve...matching Mickey and Minnie pajamas.

Then, we opened the presents under the tree with my mom and dad.

Rapunzel jammies from Grandma and Grandpa M.

We got a recordable storybook in which Allary reads "All the Ways I Love You" for my parents.

Littlest Pet Shop toy and cute cuddly baby bear from cousin Ally.

She got lots of Baby Zhu Zhu stuff to go with her Zhu Zhu collection.

A cute Lalaloopsy doll from Grandma and Grandpa M.

A Jewelry making set from Great Grandma and Grandpa S.

A Rapunzel doll from Jason and me. We got this for her when we were in Disneyland.

She also got some really cute hand-made Barbie clothes
and accessories from Grandma and Grandpa S.

 Allary with all her spoils.

I told Jason that there is a good chance she is very spoiled. He laughed and said "a chance?" Oh well, yes, she is spoiled and we went overboard yet again. I kept telling myself though, that this was her last Christmas as an only child. And, c'mon, it's fun. The pure joy of Christmas for me is seeing her joy and anticipation and excitement about it all. It was a wonderful Christmas.
We had a lot of time to enjoy together as a family in the days and weeks surrounding Christmas, and I still have more Christmas pictures to share. I will continue my feeble efforts at getting caught up. :)

School Christmas Sing-In and Making Treats

The elementary school has a Christmas "Sing-In" where each grade performs a Christmas song or two for the parents. I thought the little Kindergartners were so cute.
They sang "Must Be Santa."

Allary's class Christmas party...

I always go a little crazy with making Christmas treats. I am not a huge fan of baking or cooking, but I am a huge fan of chocolate. Thus, for Christmas, my theme is usually "what can I dip in chocolate this year?" :) We dipped marshmallows, pretzels, cinnamon bears, etc.
