Fancy Hair

Okay so maybe this post is just me showing off a little bit. My sister found a blog with some really cute hairdo ideas for little girls: piggiesnponies.blogspot.com. It has lots of cute ideas for hairdos that look really fancy, but are fairly easy to do. Allary is a great sport at letting me do her hair every day.

This is one I did for her ballet class one day, just pull-throughs, criss-cross into more pull-throughs, and back into two messy buns.


I love this one. It does take some time though.



This do is my favorite. I know you've all seen this photo in a previous post, but just admire the hair for me one more time. :)

This one is four top braids criss-crossing back into two messy buns. Both sets of braids are supposed to criss-cross, but Allary's braids weren't quite long enough. It was still cute though.


I just left the braids in overnight from the previous hairdo and pulled them all back into a bow for a quick and pretty hairdo the next day.


This one is the fanciest of them all, and still, not that hard to do. Although Allary's naturally curly hair really makes it easy. I just did some pull-throughs on the top, then divided the rest of the hair into three ponytails on top of her head. Then I used little butterfly claw clippies and just pinned the curls all over to make it look full.


Here she is looking so beautiful for church. I know I am biased, but I just think she is gorgeous.


And, to top it off, your basic end-of-a-long-crazy-day hairdo...

Trick or Treat!

Allary was so excited all day to go trick or treating. It was hard to get a very good picture of her here on the porch because she was jumping up and down with excitement.


The nose and the whiskers are stickers with rhinestones that came with the kitty accessories.

Once Allary figured out people were giving out candy at every door, she was all over it. We ran into a whole group of trick or treaters from our ward and so we joined them. After that, Allary wanted to go up to the door with the kids and she wanted Jason and me to wait on the sidewalk.


This is Elly, one of the only little girls in the ward that is around Allary's age.


I know this one is dark and hard to see, but I wanted a picture of Allary being her little independent self. Even at the doors we went to without the whole group, she would have me come ring the doorbell (only because she couldn't reach it) and then she would tell me to "go away, please Mommy." :)
We went to one door where a lady who had a really great witch costume answered the door with a very loud witch cackle "Eeeh heeeh heeeeh!" I was standing in the street visiting with another mom when I heard the cackle, followed by a very loud scream and wailing. I immideatly recognized the cry as Allary, and Jason ran over to rescue her. He said Allary had dropped her treat bag, was frozen in place and just shaking and crying. The nice lady witch felt so bad. Poor Allary asked me at every house after that, "is there going to be a witch in that door?" It was pretty funny.

Spooky Storytime

Our library has a fantastic storytime program that Allary and I go to every week. They had a special spooky storytime on the morning of Halloween. They read Halloween books, sang Halloween songs, danced, and did the "hooky spooky" (as opposed to the hokey pokey). It was really cute.

Witches!

The day before Halloween, I took Allary over to a shopping village that is well-known for its Halloween decorations consisting of life-size witches everywhere. Allary was fascinated, especially with the ones that moved. I got some cute photos.

It looks like she's giving me a salute, but she's actually just shading her eyes.

Pumpkin-Land

Allary and I went with Paige and Trisha to a pumpkin patch this week to do something "Halloween-y." They had a little play land and a corn maze and some small animals like goats, ducks and bunnies.


Just something funny, they had a challenge in the corn maze to find the secret room with the witch where we would find a secret word. If you go back and tell the cashier the secret word, you get a prize. So we found the word which was "spider" and we went back to let the girls tell the cashier. We said, "Okay, tell her the secret word." Allary whispers, "secret word" and Paige says, "fider!" Hmmm, oh well, they both got a treat. :)




Just a disclaimer: I would not normally have chosen the stretch pants and boots combo you see here on Allary but Allary got sick in the car on the way to Trisha's house and we had to borrow a change of clothes. The clothes are cute and the boots are cute, but together.... oh well.

We had a fun day and I'm glad we went. We almost decided not to go because of Allary being sick. She was sick with a cough and runny nose, then got better, then out of the blue got sick and threw up in the car on the way to Trisha's house, then has been acting completely normal ever since. She seems to be sick every other week this time of year. Bleh.

Allary is so excited today. She has been bouncing off the walls all day (and she hasn't even had much candy yet). She just knows it's a special day and she's super excited. I will post more Halloween photos later.

Big Movie Release

So yesterday was a big day for Allary and me with a much anticipated release of a huge movie. Most of you probably have no idea what I am talking about, but if you have a little girl who is obsessed with all things Tinkerbell, you know. We've been waiting for this movie for months now. We ran to Blockbuster first thing in the morning to rent it (and secretly bought it to hide away for Christmas) and watched it right away as we had a picnic lunch in front of the TV. Of course, Allary loves it. I don't know if it will surpass Peter Pan as her favorite movie, but she does love it.


TinkerBell's biggest fan...
