My girl

This is what Allary does all day long...looks at books, one after the other, page by page.

...Then puts them neatly into a stack.

The weather was pleasantly cool and sunny today, about 60 degrees out. We went out and enjoyed the backyard for a little while.

Allary has been sort of fixated on bears this week. She watched Brother Bear 2 and decided she wanted to be a bear. We went to the library and all she wanted was bear books. This also works to my advantage because when she won't eat, I just say "Show me a big bear bite" and she shoves a huge bite in her mouth. She crawls around the house making all kinds of growling noises, trying to bite my ankles, and showing me her claws.
Grrrrrr! Watch out!

Fun in the Snow

All this snow can be such a pain, but it can be really fun too. Jason worked from home a few days last week and he took Allary out in the backyard to play on his lunch break. He even built a small hill to sled down. :)

I like this picture because it looks like she is giving the thumbs up!

I only came outside to take pictures, but got sucked into having a ride.

Eating snow... her Daddy taught her that. I generally make it a rule not to eat anything off the ground.

Watching Daddy on the sled. I love her expression.

Throwing a snowball at me while I'm trying to take a cute picture.

Look at all that snow in our backyard!!! That is the pile of snow after Jason used the snowblower on the little walkway next to the house. If Jason or I tried to step where she is, we would sink right down in, possibly never to be found again.

Warming up after all that fun with a little hot (or in her case lukewarm) chocolate. Mmmm.

Nice Vacation

Allary and I went to my Mom and Dad's house for a week and a half. Jason was working in Nashville during that time and had been out of town for most of the month. I was feeling very lonely and isolated and tired of being snowed in up here in our new house. So, the time spent with my parents was absolutely wonderful. Just having an adult to talk to is a fabulous thing. It is also so nice to have others around who want to entertain Allary, read her a book, color a picture, or give her a bath. My mom and I did a lot of shopping and eating out and just visiting and drinking Diet Coke. Ahhh, that's the life. Thanks Mom for everything, we really had a great time.
Here are some photos from our time there.

Allary's first time on an airplane. She's got her sucker, her baby doll, and a video player with Blue's Clues (borrowed from Trisha, "Thanks Trish!"). She did great.

My little Sleeping Beauty. This was during the day when my mom was working. I guess I just wasn't exciting enough compared to Grandma and Grandpa.

I just think she looks so beautiful when she sleeps. It must be partly because it is the only time she is not up to something.

I got to visit one of my best friends Katie, and her new baby boy, Cole. (I forgot to bring along my camera and so I stole these photos from Katie, thanks Katie!) It was so good to see her and hold her sweet baby. This turned out to be a great photo, aside from the little pill with her finger up her nose.

Allary had a great time playing with Noah. She came to show me that toy drill, and I said, "Oh, what do you have?" She looked at it, thought a moment, and said, "It's a hair dryer." Is she a girl or what?

My mom was happy to help out with bath duty. She may have had second thoughts when she realized she could get wet enough to call it a bath of her own. Allary loved squirting Grandma with the bath toys.

I love this photo of Allary with Grandma and Grandpa.

Musical Card

We got a Valentine's Day package from my mom with all kinds of goodies for Allary.

Thanks, Mom, for the package, and especially for the musical card!

The House (Outside)

This is the house we will be in for the next 17 months. I took these photos the day after I got home from NM. There was actually a surprising amount of snow at my parents' house, but nothing compared to what we have here. It just keeps coming! It seems like it has snowed every day that we have been here. The driveway is so steep, the roads up the mountain to get to our house are so steep, and my car is so horrible in the snow, I pretty much can't go anywhere when it snows. Luckily, they have a snowblower, but it is still too heavy for me to be able to push up the driveway. Ugh. The houses up here on the mountain are so nice and the view is great, but already, I am so sick of all this snow up here!
Below is a photo of the road right in front of the house.

I haven't taken pictures of the inside of the house yet, because I am still working on getting everything put away and arranged the way that I want. So, indoor pictures coming soon.

We're still alive!

We are still here. Life has been crazy lately. Jason has been working non-stop all of January and has been out of town more than he has been home. He had one and a half days off, which was when we moved. So, the whole week before the 15th I was busy packing and cleaning. Jason's family came up to help us with the actual move, which was so greatly appreciated because it is hard to find help during the day on a work day. It was alot of work because we have a whole lot of stuff. We were also trying to work around the snowy weather. The house is way up on the mountain, and so snow is a big issue. Anyway, we made it and we're all moved in. We finally got the last of the boxes opened and stuff put away the day before I left for NM, which is where I am now. Jason left town again for Nashville and so I came to NM to have some company and some fun with my mom. I will be going back home again on Tuesday. I will post some pictures of the house and update more then.

It is so frustrating to me to move and to see how much stuff we actually have and so much work to get it all boxed up. But, looking at these pictures, I realize that's my whole world right there in that box. :)
